The View at Seacoast is a private oceanfront rooftop three stories above the Imperial Beach boardwalk, directly across from Pier Plaza and the Imperial Beach Pier, designed specifically for unforgettable proposal moments. Our dual-level space combines a covered second story with an open-air rooftop deck, giving you panoramic Pacific Ocean views, golden hour light, and the sound of the surf without the crowds, so you can ask the most important question in complete privacy. We reserve the rooftop just for you and your photographer or planner, and help you customize timing, layout, and small details so your partner’s “yes” happens in a setting that already feels like the first chapter of your story together.

Private venue
From the Earth Bridge in the Lower Garden, all the way to the Upper Garden Koi Deck, the Japanese Friendship Garden & Museum has multiple spots to choose from for your special moment. Each spot is truly unique in its own way. With multiple koi ponds, waterfalls, bridges and more, the garden is a photographer's playground! The Earth Bridge is a very popular spot, since the bridge has no railings and the photographer can perfectly capture your special moment when you get down on one knee, surrounded by foliage and a koi pond. For our private proposals, you will get free parking and direct access to our private events entrance. You can use any excuse, such as tickets to a tea ceremony or tasting, a photoshoot, work event, or whatever makes the most sense for you personally, and the private events coordinator will go along with it. The space is private for you, and you have the full hour to take photos around the garden. You can pick between a private morning proposal at 9 am or an evening proposal after we close to the public at 7 pm during summer hours (golden hour) or 6 pm during winter hours.
