Japanese Friendship Garden & Museum — proposal venue in San Diego, CA.
From the Earth Bridge in the Lower Garden, all the way to the Upper Garden Koi Deck, the Japanese Friendship Garden & Museum has multiple spots to choose from for your special moment. Each spot is truly unique in its own way. With multiple koi ponds, waterfalls, bridges and more, the garden is a photographer's playground! The Earth Bridge is a very popular spot, since the bridge has no railings and the photographer can perfectly capture your special moment when you get down on one knee, surrounded by foliage and a koi pond. For our private proposals, you will get free parking and direct access to our private events entrance. You can use any excuse, such as tickets to a tea ceremony or tasting, a photoshoot, work event, or whatever makes the most sense for you personally, and the private events coordinator will go along with it. The space is private for you, and you have the full hour to take photos around the garden. You can pick between a private morning proposal at 9 am or an evening proposal after we close to the public at 7 pm during summer hours (golden hour) or 6 pm during winter hours.
Packages from $550 to $1,250.
Private Evening or Morning Proposals (Additional Vendors Allowed) — $1,250. Hourly rate pricing (any time additional vendors other than a photographer are brought in, or for any evening proposals): $1,250/hr Mon-Thurs - $1,550/hr Fri-Sun - $1,850/hr on holiday weekends. Must include time for setup and breakdown in total hours, if any setup is included (additional florals, arch, musicians, etc). We are venue only. Must sign proposal contract with venue which states our cancellation and date change policy. A guest count higher than 10 is allowed for this package.
Partially Private Morning Proposals (Additional Vendors Not Allowed) — $550. Partially private morning proposals from 9-10 am (photographer/ first group access at 8:45 am) are $550 for the hour, with no additional setup or vendors other than a photographer and/or videographer. Must include time for setup and breakdown in total hours, if any setup is included (additional florals, arch, musicians, etc). We are venue only. Must sign proposal contract with venue which states our cancellation and date change policy. Up to 10 guests max, including couple and photographer.
